PhD in Civil Engineering, PE, PMP, GISP, UC Berkeley Haas Business School - Continued Education
My core strength lies in seeing the forest from the trees and envisioning solutions to business needs, combining my engineering and data management skills. While I can easily delve into the technical weeds of Data and Tech, I thrive on the 'big picture'— using my background in civil engineering, GIS, data modeling, software development, and leadership skills to make things simpler — whether they are business processes or technology solutions.
My superpowers are:
Perseverance, building consensus, promoting change, enabling process improvements, and finding simple and sustainable solutions to complex business problems.
When I am not at work:
I love mentoring young minds and teaching them real-world skills. I have been a coach of FIRST Robotics Team 7477, Super 7, for 16 years and proudly mentored them to qualify for 7 world championship events. I also love visiting national parks, traveling with family and friends, and trying to keep up with my wife on long walks and hikes.
Favorite quote or saying:
I have many favorite quotes that inspire me to do better every day. Here are some of my favorites:
“A leader is best when people barely know he exists... When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves." — Lao Tzu
“Happiness depends on what you can give, not on what you can get.” — Swami Chinmayananda
"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." — Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." — Winston Churchill
Why I love EPIC:
EPIC is my home away from home, and the EPIC team is my second family. I am inspired by the work we do at EPIC and seeing the team members learn and grow. I truly enjoy waking up every day and working on solutions that make our communities work more efficiently and become resilient. Every EPIC team member has a unique role to play, and I am incredibly grateful to have a small part in their professional growth and success.
